The Distribution Center Specialist I is responsible for proficiently performing a variety of inbound and outbound activities within the Distribution Center, including but not limited to, picking, assembly, packing, receiving, and shipping. Employees will be assigned to functions based on business and seasonal needs and will be cross trained in all functions. This position requires careful adherence to defined work processes where repeatable results are needed. The work is highly precise and requires a very strong attention to detail. Individuals performing the job must be patient and conscientious to produce work output that is high quality with consistent, correct results. Much of the work can be accomplished by working at a steady, even pace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) and a minimum of 1 year of relevant Distribution Center/Warehouse experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM with occasional overtime as required.
  • Basic reading and comprehension skill.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF equipment, Warehouse Management Systems and Shipping Software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Locates products in the Distribution Center layout and picking zones.
  • Reads and fills customer orders based on assigned picking waves using RF scanners.
  • Records items and quantities associated to appropriate picking bins.
  • Verifies and confirms accuracy of picked orders.
  • Records items and quantities associated to appropriate shipping container.
  • Seals, labels, and applies packing slip to each box properly for shipment.
  • Willingness to train in other areas of DC to fill in as needed.
  • As needed, creates and affixes shipping labels to packages prior to loading for shipment.
  • As needed, loads and properly stacks packages by hand onto a truck for shipping while maintaining the stability of boxes to prevent damage.
  • Assists with ensuring bins are filled in picking zones.
  • Maintains excellent onsite attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment including adhering to and understanding OSHA safety policies and regulations
