You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in. Ferguson is currently seeking a Pipe Yard Manager to join our Grand Prairie Distribution Center team! The pipe yard operates across two shifts: 1st shift: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 2nd shift: 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The Pipe Yard Manager oversees both shifts. Their standard schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, but they must maintain flexibility to adjust their hours as operational needs arise.

Requirements

  • A strong background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory is required
  • 3-5+ years of warehouse or pipe yard management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Material Handling Equipment Certification
  • Valid Class B CDL license is preferred
  • Proficient in OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize workload appropriately in order to balance multiple demands and meet timelines as required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop a productive pipe yard by hiring, training and providing professional development for all of its associates
  • Supervise and coordinate unloading and stocking of inbound shipments and the picking and shipping of outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with both product and paperwork
  • Ensure pipe yard space is used effectively and kept clean and orderly
  • Ensure integrity of inventory and confirm that cycle counts are completed
  • Maintain security of pipe yard and safety of all associates and equipment, reporting any accidents and conveying any issues to branch management
