About The Position

The distribution center manager is responsible for the high performance of warehouse storage and shipment processes. They are expected to assist in new warehouse team member selection, orientation, and development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma in addition to 5+ years in distribution center or warehouse management with a proven track record of managing teams and complex supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and logistics software.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and team members.
  • Previous experience working with a TMS (Transportation Management System) is preferred.
  • Certified and able to operate power industrial lifts.
  • Prolonged periods of standing work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently lift 15-25 lbs.
  • Occasional repetitious tasks with upper extremities.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to correctly wear and use personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in the selection of and implementation of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems.
  • Experience in a large, fast moving Distribution Center.
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach Mazomanie Distribution Center team members to ensure the safest working conditions and ensure that the Distribution Center is always SQF compliant.
  • Manage warehouse team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of Distribution Center automation technologies.
  • Assist in the integration of existing systems with the warehouse automation system, ensuring all requirements are met to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Participate in the selection and implementation of various material handling automation systems and equipment, such as autonomous vehicles.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators to understand the Distribution Center performance, create goals around these performance indicators, and drive meaningful actions for improvement.
  • Proactively identify equipment needs and make recommendations on capital purchases that improve warehouse safety and efficiency.
  • Work with the Distribution Center team to help drive compliance with systems such as dock appointment scheduling system and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Coordinate the completion of cycle counts and physical counts as requested by procurement or Customer Service.
  • Communicates with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to ensure efficient and effective day to day management of all inbound and outbound operations.
  • Ensure effective communication between the maintenance department and Distribution Center to coordinate repairs as needed on equipment.
