About The Position

Petco is a category-defining health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents, and Petco partners. We are 29,000 strong and operate 1,500+ pet care centers in the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico, including 250+ Vetco Total Care hospitals, hundreds of preventive care clinics, and eight distribution centers. This position ensures the proper operation and maintenance of all rolling stock, machinery, equipment, and the facility. It is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the facility.

Requirements

• Minimum educational background is a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance or related field is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.
• Prior experience performing repairs and preventative maintenance on powered industrial equipment such as material handling equipment and automation systems.
• Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess equipment and recommend an appropriate course of action.
• Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts.
• Maintain and repair powered material handling equipment, pick carousels, conveyors, and other automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot escalated technical problems and complex mechanical issues.
• Perform repair and maintenance duties to the interior and exterior building structure including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, framing, roofing, painting, and other general construction.
• Perform preventive maintenance of rolling stock and equipment as required.
• Observe and promote established safety procedures.
• Prioritize maintenance of red tagged equipment.
• Assist in physical inventories as required.
• May perform other projects and tasks as assigned.
