About The Position

We’re hiring a Distribuion General Manager to lead the Havertys Furniture Distribution operation in Colonial Heights, VA. Advance your career with Havertys, the most established Furniture Retailer in the industry. Pay: Commensurate with industry standards. Position is bonus and equity eligible. Schedule : Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to completion This is your Opportunity to: Coordinates the Receiving, Shipping, Repair/Refinish, Returns, Inventory Control, Quality Control, Accounting and Human Resource functions for the distribution center. Recruit, hire, and train qualified personnel while providing ongoing coaching and development of the management staff. Create an environment with good moral and teamwork among all employees. Gives work directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work. Coordinates activities of departments to ensure the staff is functioning at optimum levels while maintaining departmental standards. Manages Key Performance Indicators including: overtime, productivity and labor management of the facility Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares a budget. Plans and facilitates department safety initiatives, including creating a work environment conducive to safe operations. The manager will communicate the importance of workplace safety.

Requirements

  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise people.
  • Knowledge and experience in warehouse setting is necessary with direct to consumer distribution a plus.
  • 7 to 10 years management experience in a distribution environment.
  • Decision-making ability needed along with good leadership skills.
  • Must complete and understand all company sponsored safety programs.
