About The Position

At Academy Sports + Outdoors, our purpose is to make it easier for everyone to enjoy more sports and outdoors. The Distribution Center Team Member / Distribution Center Equipment Operator is responsible for a variety of distribution center duties to ensure the accurate and safe shipment of goods to and from the customer. Through this important work, the Distribution Center Team Member / Equipment Operator provides support to the distribution center in order to achieve customer service, associate engagement, profitability goals and Academy's Purpose.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent diploma required.
• Current forklift certification a plus.
• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Previous material handling equipment experience (MHE) preferred.
• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience preferred.
• Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles preferred.
• Must have a 'Safety First' mentality.
• Inventory management, equipment maintenance, data entry, and basic computer skills required.
• Effective communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skills.
• Able to multi-task and work independently.
• Ability to anticipate and make decisions under pressure.
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accurate and safe shipment of goods to and from the customer.
• Support the distribution center to achieve customer service and profitability goals.
• Report any unsafe working conditions and adhere to company procedures, policies, and guidelines.
• Report suspicious activities, concerns or potential theft to management, Human Resources or Loss Prevention.
