About The Position

Join our warehouse team at Dollar Tree/Family Dollar as a Distribution Center Cleaner! In this role, you will be responsible for the deep cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas within our climate-controlled distribution center. You will work under the direction of a supervisor, either independently or as part of a team, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all associates. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $19.00 per hour, with pay increases at 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work at heights and in tight environments.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to be on feet most of the day and walk several miles each day.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of similar work experience.
  • Ability to present self in a highly professional manner.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Dusts and washes furniture, walls, machines, ceilings, equipment, and other surfaces using ladders or powered equipment.
  • Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Removes stains from surfaces using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
  • Removes debris and empties trash and cardboard containers.
  • Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
  • Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners.
  • Sprays insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
  • Keeps supply closet neat and orderly and maintains equipment in good working order.
  • Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Monitors building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours.
  • Operates floor scrubbing equipment and maintains all stations containing janitorial equipment.
  • Attends training programs as designated and complies with all company safety and risk management policies.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
  • Drives vehicles to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans and industrial trucks.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
