About The Position

The Assistant Stockroom Manager at NAPA Auto Parts is responsible for overseeing the stockroom operations within the distribution center. This role involves ensuring the efficient loading of freight, monitoring employee productivity, and providing leadership and training to stockroom staff. The position aims to maintain high performance levels while adhering to safety regulations and protecting company assets.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a distribution center environment.
• Experience with MRP systems, work order, and/or warehouse management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people and knowledge of product lines for quick identification.
• Computer literate, with knowledge of AS 400, RADS, and some PC experience.
• Honest, dependable, and willing to engage in physical and mental labor.
• Strong desire to lead and embrace challenges and opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping errors in collaboration with other distribution center management.
• Monitor productivity of stockers, pullers, and truck loaders.
• Ensure freight is loaded accurately and timely on night trucks.
• Ensure all orders are pulled, packed, and ready for loading by the end of each day.
• Provide direct support to the stockroom manager by leading and supervising stockroom employees.
• Motivate employees and maintain morale to ensure high performance levels.
• Train and develop employees for optimal stockroom efficiency.
• Protect company assets by ensuring proper equipment use and security of the building.
• Resolve customer requests and follow up to provide excellent service.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
