About The Position

The Distribution Associate plays an important role in supporting daily warehouse and distribution operations by receiving, processing, packaging, and shipping products accurately and efficiently. This role supports the movement of products through the organization while maintaining strong attention to quality, traceability, and customer service. This position is designed as a progressive distribution role, where team members begin by training in the shipping function and expand their skills over time into additional areas of the distribution operation, including receiving, inventory handling, and warehouse organization.

Requirements

  • Warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution experience is helpful but not required
  • Ability to work with packaging materials and shipping equipment to safely prepare and process customer shipments
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn shipping, inventory, and warehouse management systems
  • Ability to use handheld electronic devices and warehouse technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage small tasks or projects
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb ladders and reach overhead as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical warehouse tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or inventory management systems is a plus, particularly for roles supporting receiving and inventory control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Accurately locate parts and materials in a warehouse environment
  • Pull, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment
  • Package orders safely and economically to meet shipping requirements
  • Generate shipping documentation and complete shipping transactions in inventory systems
  • Provide shipping quotes and coordinate with freight carriers as needed
  • Maintain product traceability, including lot number tracking where required
  • Receive incoming shipments and inspect goods for accuracy and condition
  • Verify shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and documentation
  • Record received items and quantities in inventory management systems
  • Sort and distribute incoming materials to appropriate departments
  • Assist in maintaining organized inventory locations and warehouse storage areas
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventory activities
  • Communicate with shipping, purchasing, and production teams regarding shipment status, back orders, or discrepancies
  • Support warehouse organization and stock replenishment activities
  • Assist with claims, carrier reports, and shipment tracking when needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve distribution processes and efficiencies
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
