About The Position

The Distribution Account Manager for AMD at MarketStar is responsible for providing dedicated support to distribution sales representatives, driving revenue within direct marketing reseller (DMR) and value-added reseller (VAR) partner channels. This role focuses on achieving revenue and market share goals, developing messaging for AMD products, and assisting in closing sales opportunities. The position requires regular onsite visits to distributors, managing a pipeline of opportunities, and leveraging partner resources to maximize sales effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working in Distribution and/or VAR Channel sales.
  • Solid understanding of Distribution and VAR Channel with the ability to learn quickly.
  • College degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proven experience conducting group presentations or training.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide answers to client and server-related pre-sales technical questions for Distribution, NSP(s), and/or VAR(s) account managers and customers.
  • Conduct regular onsite visits to assigned distributors to develop and grow relationships.
  • Encourage partner-based sales reps to quote client and server products more frequently.
  • Own and manage a pipeline of client and server opportunities within the Distribution accounts that identifies revenue and strategic markets and/or customers.
  • Follow up on AMD client and server bid opportunities with Distribution, NSP, and/or VARs.
  • Deliver AMD revenue targets on a quarterly and annual basis as mutually agreed upon.
  • Leverage available partner resources to maximize close percentage.
  • Promote the use of Distribution tools including online training, bid desk, trade-in programs, and sales incentive programs.
  • Provide regular feedback on the effectiveness of tools as issues arise.
  • Help conduct client-sponsored floor days and tabletops, if applicable.
  • Acquire and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting to recognize areas of strength and opportunities for growth.
