About The Position

The clean energy transition isn't theoretical here — it's the daily work. Our client is a distributed energy company operating at the intersection of solar generation, battery storage, and grid-edge innovation, delivering sophisticated energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers who can't afford to get it wrong. This is a hands-on design role where your work goes from model to installation, and where the engineers around you take the technology as seriously as you do. If you want to see your designs built — and then optimized — this is that job.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
  • Hands-on experience designing renewable or distributed energy systems in a professional setting
  • Solid command of solar PV, battery storage, or distributed generation technologies — ideally in commercial or industrial contexts
  • Proficiency with electrical system design tools, SLD development, and power system calculations
  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards
  • The ability to move fluidly between independent technical work and collaborative cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • microgrid or energy storage integration experience
  • familiarity with utility interconnection and permitting processes
  • progress toward (or achievement of) professional engineering licensure

Responsibilities

  • Design distributed energy systems — solar PV, battery storage, and supporting power infrastructure — from concept through construction-ready documentation
  • Develop system layouts, single-line diagrams, and full technical documentation packages for commercial and industrial projects
  • Run energy modeling, system sizing, and performance calculations that drive real project decisions
  • Support interconnection submissions and technical documentation for utility and regulatory filings
  • Review equipment selections and vendor submittals for technical accuracy and project fit
  • Collaborate directly with project managers, engineers, and field teams to keep designs accurate and buildable
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and design optimization during installation and commissioning phases
  • Maintain design documentation in compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience
  • Health insurance coverage
  • Retirement plan options
  • Paid time off
