This is highly technical work including the planning, design, development, acquisition, implementation and maintenance of Departmental statewide microcomputer information systems. Analyze, resolve, and document complex hardware, software, and communication problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes to limit down time. Assemble, install, and configure computer hardware, peripherals, and components includes modifying network, database, system, and configuration files for connectivity, and completion of inventory forms. Research, test, and certify new technology hardware; and provide hardware/software recommendations to procurement staff. Maintain a stable computing environment and minimize risk to computer systems by ensuring updates and patches are installed. Record and track software licenses for desktop assets. Train, assist, and advise other technicians on computer related issues. Work with vendor contacts and internal technical support staff to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software. Provide accurate and up-to-date record keeping of all work performed in the department's service request ticket tracking system.
