About The Position

Under the direction of the Inventory Control Manager, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining inventory control processes, which include cycle counting, resolving customer inquiries, invoice discrepancies, inventory discrepancies, returns from customers, inventory consolidation, replenishing, and slotting. This position is also responsible for filing claims with vendors on any damages in shipment or overages/shortages on deliveries. Cross-train with all members of the Inventory Control team to ensure that when there are absences, the team can function at normal service levels. This will also enable growth within the department. Communicate all issues with multiple teams within the organization. This position is accountable for maintaining departmental files, including receiving and inventory control documentation. Shift: Day Shift, Full Time (40 hours). Weekend work not required, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Work requires knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, inventory stocking, and distribution
  • Must have a high working knowledge of computers/word processing
  • Good communication skills in dealing with other employees and vendors
  • Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to type
  • Sound problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and follow institutional guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to be flexible to meet schedule needs and handle frequent, unpredictable changes
  • Ability to work as a committed team member by contributing in a positive, enthusiastic, engaged and collaborative manner
  • Must have good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy in data entry and the verification process
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one clear answer
  • Team player with strong initiative, independent thinker, driven to succeed, high energy, with a commitment to work and follow through
  • Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple assignments concurrently with minimal direction in a dynamic work environment
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a G.E.D. Certification
  • Three years of prior professional work experience; related experience in a warehouse or manufacturing facility preferred
  • Must be able to operate data processing equipment, including PC’s, bar code scanners, image scanners, voice picking system, and hand-held order entry system
  • Operating motorized and manual material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks
  • Must be able to lift and move material over 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends
  • Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for an extended period
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions, requiring accuracy and consistency
