About The Position

APEX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Software Engineer. You will be responsible for leading the development of innovative GenAI powered applications, as well as architecting enterprise-grade platform, microservices, and pipelines. The Enterprise People Technology team supports the successful deployment and adoption of new GenAI based technology across the enterprise. Requirements

• Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applications with microservice architecture in Kubernetes.
• Proven programming skills for end-to-end application and platform development such as Python, Java, ReactJS, LangChain, and related framework and libraries.
• Expertise in building reliable and highly scalable products from scratch (applying operational excellence)
• Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design and ability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint.
• Experience with common ML model serving framework, especially for NLP & LLM models/applications.
• Experience developing and maintaining engineering processes and best practices for AI app development, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize requirements across multiple domains and influence stakeholders/peer teams for strategic alignment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex machine learning solutions that drive business results.
• Mentor junior team members by providing guidance and support to achieve their full potential and improve team efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Engineering processes and best practices - setting and enforcing high standards for quality, reliability, and security in deployed machine learning solutions.
• Work cross-functionally with business, product, data science, front-end engineering, and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.
• Effectively communicate technical work to senior/executive leaders in both technical and non-technical settings.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML technologies and trend - acting as a thought leader for ML Engineering within the organization and in the broader technical community.
