About The Position

Job Summary: As a Walmart Distinguished Engineer, you will spearhead the development of the next generation of payroll systems for over 2 million associates. In this role, you will have the opportunity to set the technical direction for a team that integrates with 50+ systems to ensure seamless, accurate, and timely payments for all associates, while eliminating defects and manual touchpoints. As a leader in the Payroll Instegrations space, you'll work closely with senior leadership across multiple organizations to shape the future of payroll technology, driving innovation and efficiency at scale, and delivering on ambitious goals like 90% year-on-year defect reduction. Requirements

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 8 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

• Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for multiple teams and systems, and disambiguate large complex problems at Walmart scale to enable the team to deliver.
• Collaborate with engineering and business leadership to align technology and business priorities.
• Establish and own both business as well as well operational excellence goals, and help define the path to goal achievement.
• Invest in creating engineering leaders and set up culture of engineering excellence for multiple teams.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership across Walmart Global Tech to influence global best practices and be a spokesperson for the org.
