Requirements

  • NYS SBL highly preferred. Candidates who are not currently certified or actively pursuing certification will also be considered.
  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a school leadership role (e.g., Assistant Principal, Dean, Grade-Level Leader) required
  • At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
  • Proven track record of achievement and measurable results
  • Strong commitment to improving the quality of urban education, especially for historically underserved students
  • Candidates who do not meet the above qualifications will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and foster strong professional relationships within the school community, including the Board, staff, students, families, and external partners
  • Champion high academic and behavioral standards to ensure excellence in student achievement
  • Model and uphold a culture of high expectations, accountability, and professionalism
  • Lead policy development related to discipline, attendance, and student conduct
  • Guide faculty in curriculum planning and instructional best practices
  • Manage and ensure compliance with required reports to authorizers, funders, and regulatory agencies
  • Participate in the recruitment, mentoring, and development of staff
  • Supervise and evaluate instructional and support staff
  • Coordinate and support school-wide events and programs
  • Oversee building operations, including maintenance of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials
  • Ensure smooth and effective day-to-day school operations
