About The Position

As a Distinguished Engineer, you will align Infineon's product development with rapid system level changes driven by new technologies and evolving market demand from customers. As semiconductors play an increasingly vital role in areas like robotics and photovoltaics/solar, this person will need to adapt to these changes by translating complex system trends and requirements. In your new role you will drive trend identification and establish clear direction for innovation, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements. You will create an environment that encourages bold, transformative ideas and data-driven decision-making, leveraging cross-functional collaboration to accelerate innovation. You will contribute significantly to technology & product roadmaps and standards in collaboration with key partners and global industry leaders, ensuring alignment with future trends and technological shifts. You will create opinion leadership regarding technology / product trends - both Infineon internal and amongst the industry - through thought leadership. You will build and strengthen relationships with executive management and external stakeholders to represent divisional core competencies and ensure alignment with broader corporate goals. You will lead the intellectual property (IP) strategy, ensuring the protection, development, and exploitation of IP assets to maintain competitive advantage and drive new business opportunities. You will make critical system architecture decisions with high-level impact and ensure their successful implementation across multiple teams and departments. You will mentor and develop talents within the team, sharing knowledge, providing career guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. You will promote patent creation and enhance the company's reputation through thought leadership, technical publications, keynote presentations, and industry involvement at trade shows and conferences. You will solve mission-critical problems by applying a combination of technical expertise and innovative thinking, driving continuous improvement efforts to ensure quality leadership and operational efficiency. The technology expertise required will be centered around Power conversion including DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC and Motor control applications.

Requirements

  • Extensive expertise (10-15 years min) in system architecture innovation, within robotics or solar photovoltaics.
  • Professional experience working directly for one of Infineon's customers within these two segments.
  • Demonstrated track record of having taken several technologies from an idea to an end-product.
  • Highly technical education (Masters/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar.
  • Proven ability to make strategic technical decisions and lead multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience shaping and influencing industry trends.
  • Strong track record in mentoring and talent development.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex, mission-critical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • 10+ years of experience in system architecture, ideally within industries like robotics, semiconductors, power systems, or photovoltaics.

  • Maximum of $383,900 salary per year
  • Eligible to participate in an incentive plan
