Draper's Acoustic and Vibration Technologies group is seeking a Distinguished Acoustic Signal Processing Scientist to serve as a DSP and control systems subject matter expert for novel sound and vibration technology. Your role will primarily focus on the research and development of signal processing algorithms for sensing and communications systems. You will also direct the shaping and capture of new programs through the development of customer relationships, proposals, presentations, and whitepapers. This is a technical leadership role that will ultimately deliver novel, high-performance technology to national security customers. The ideal candidate has a technology background in the architecture and deployment of DSP algorithms and control systems for acoustic sensor systems, with expertise in: • feedback and feedforward active noise control of electromechanical systems • beamforming and beamsteering of phased acoustic arrays • audio, speech, and vibration feature identification/classification • real-time DSP and control algorithms for constrained processing environments • stochastic analysis and advanced mathematical modeling of a variety of sensors and signals • continuous and discrete-time filter design and optimization • digital and analog communications techniques, including waveform design, modulators, demodulators, channel modeling, synchronous detection, etc. Candidates will also have a demonstrated history or current participation in publications, patents, conference proceedings, and other technical interchange with peers in academia and industry.
