About The Position

The
Distillates Trader will develop and execute trading strategies to optimize assets and capture value in short-term and intermediate energy markets.  The trader will also find the best disposition for Phillips 66 refinery production and source the most inexpensive resupply when necessary.
Additionally, this position will support the Senior Jet Trader and back-up other distillate traders relative to their trading responsibilities when necessary.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 or more years of Commercial experience
• Successful completion of the Phillips 66 Trader Assessment Program or at least 1 year of verified energy trading experience
• Travel up to 5% of the time

Responsibilities

• Participating within the Global Distillate Trading Team to help develop market views and identify trade opportunities.
• Identifying and developing trading strategies based on fundamental, technical, seasonal, and/or historical analysis.
• Understanding the relationship between physical and paper markets and identifying arbitrage opportunities.
• Anticipating problems, and being willing to make decisions and take action under real-time market conditions.
• Collaborating with VCO, Marketing and Aviation to drive short-term optimization and value capture.
• Building strong relationships with trading and supply chain partners.
• Negotiating and executing deals, ensuring compliance and accuracy in the Deal Capture System.
• Partnering with the Market Analysts to maintain product balances, storage, and logistics for your region of responsibility.
• Collaborating with operations for seamless trade execution.
• Providing market insights and reports to senior leadership.
• Providing back-up and vacation coverage to other US Distillate traders.
• Interfacing with physical traders and position keepers to ensure that trading hedges are effectively executed. Taking written and verbal derivate orders from traders and placing those orders on electronic platforms or with a broker.
