About The Position
The Distance Education Program Director for Medical Billing and Healthcare Administration at Swedish Institute Inc. is a pivotal role that operates under the direct supervision of the Director of Online Distance Education. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the MBAS and HCA programs, with a strong focus on supporting student learning outcomes and fulfilling managerial duties within the learning environment. The Program Director plays a crucial role in program and college governance, overseeing various aspects of the distance learning environment. In this capacity, the Program Director manages the hiring and evaluation of qualified faculty, engages in curriculum development and review, and procures necessary learning resources. Additionally, the role involves monitoring program and student outcomes, ensuring accreditation compliance, and assessing both student and faculty experiences and engagement within the MBAS and HCA programs. The Program Director is expected to maintain a respectful and supportive atmosphere for students, addressing their issues and concerns effectively. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Program Director works closely with administrators and faculty to address disciplinary issues, facilitate communication, and coordinate activities that support faculty and program requirements. The position also entails managing student records in accordance with college, state, and federal regulations while maintaining confidentiality. The Program Director will lead faculty and departmental meetings to evaluate and revise curriculum and policies, ensuring alignment with end-of-program student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the Program Director is responsible for developing and implementing evaluation plans using appropriate data, analyzing aggregated outcomes data, and preparing reports for state and national accreditations. The role includes providing orientation for new students and faculty, mentoring new faculty members, and supervising and evaluating faculty performance. Budget preparation for the program, including operating expenditures, is also a critical responsibility, along with assisting in special events and meetings related to massage therapy.
