(As of December 31, 2025) Position Overview: The successful candidate will serve as a key member of our legal department, providing strategic counsel and hands-on management and direction of disputes across our real estate portfolio, including disputes with partners, developers, contractors and property managers. This role requires a skilled dispute resolution lawyer with an understanding of the real estate industry and a proven track record of managing disputes from inception through resolution.

Requirements

  • We are seeking a candidate with 8–12 years of experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience representing real estate owners, operators, or investors in dispute resolution, including pre-litigation strategy, motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of the real estate industry.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate transactions, including development, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, construction and financing transactions.
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems.
  • Excellent negotiation and written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Employment with the company is contingent on the applicant being able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • The Counsel will be responsible for managing all phases of disputes (including disputes with partners, developer, contractors and property managers) affecting the company and its affiliated entities, including reviewing contracts, facts and circumstances, offering strategic guidance, responding to claims, and coordinating with insurance carriers and outside counsel.
  • The role also involves advising senior management on risk mitigation strategies and implementing approved strategies.
