About The Position

We are looking for a Display Engineer for the development of Displays for iPhone products. This individual will be collaborating on flat panel displays both at the component and system level and serves as a focal point between the system design team, the display EE team, display mechanical team, the supply base management team, and the display suppliers, managing all activities vital to deliver displays into final products from initial concept to production. On this team, we investigate and collaborate with internal and external partners to define the display module specs for new iPhone projects. You will lead an internal, multi-functional team across optical, EE, ME, process and panel design experts. You will also lead collaboration with suppliers as the primary technical contact window.

Requirements

• Masters degree or PhD.
• Experience with failure analysis connecting optical device performance to process outcomes.
• Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge and experience in display specific optics.
• Experience with module engineering and mass production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on flat panel displays at both component and system level.
• Serve as a focal point between various teams including system design, display EE, mechanical, supply base management, and suppliers.
• Investigate and collaborate with partners to define display module specifications for new iPhone projects.
• Lead a multi-functional team across optical, EE, ME, process, and panel design experts.
• Conduct hands-on characterization of electro-optical performance.
• Perform data analysis and image processing.
• Script for lab level measurement automation.
• Work with vendors and cross-functional teams on failure analysis.
• Document and present work findings.
• Ensure display goals are met for engineering builds and initial mass production.
• Address issues from initial ramp and field returns related to displays.
• Drive closure of open engineering issues efficiently to support project needs.
