We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Dispensing Nurse (Part-Time and PRN) for our program. This position is responsible for measuring and dispensing methadone and other medications in accordance with doctors' orders, while adhering to regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). Additionally, the role involves providing nursing services and maintaining medical records for the Opioid Treatment Program, along with related services. This position is exclusively for day shift hours. Requirements

  • LPN or RN license for the State of Colorado or a multi-state license.
  • Continuing education in human services, psychology, and related fields is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws regarding medication dispensing, storage, and accountability.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • It may require bending and lifting. The maximum weight for any physical moving requirement should not exceed 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, dispensing, and record-keeping medication according to applicable rules and regulations.
  • Supports patient treatment by coordinating with program Supervisors and Behavioral Health Clinicians, ensuring accurate dispensing of all medications per physician orders.
  • Responsible for dosing and documenting all methadone doses within scheduled clinic hours.
  • Report inconsistencies and problems regarding the handling of controlled substances to your immediate Supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and immediately reports any potential hazards to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Observe patients for urine analyses.
