We invite a compassionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Dispensing Nurse (PT) for our program. This position is responsible for measuring and dispensing methadone and other medications in accordance with physicians' orders and in compliance with regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). Additionally, the role involves providing nursing services and maintaining medical records for the Opioid Treatment Program and related services. This position is exclusively for day shift hours. Please note that all applicants must undergo a pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, tb test, as well as a comprehensive background check.

Requirements

  • Education: LPN or RN license for the state of Colorado or a multi-state license.
  • Continuing education in human services, psychology, and related fields is required.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws regarding medication dispensing, storage, and accountability.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Prefer prior experience in the substance use treatment field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, dispensing, and record-keeping medication according to applicable rules and regulations.
  • Supports patient care by coordinating with program supervisors and counselors, ensuring accurate dispensing of all medications per physician orders.
  • Responsible for dosing and documenting all methadone doses within scheduled clinic hours.
  • Report inconsistencies and problems regarding the handling of controlled substances to your immediate Supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and immediately reports any potential hazards to the immediate Supervisor.
  • Observe patients for urine analyses.
