About The Position

Responsible for coordinating and directing transportation teammates and fleet assets to ensure timely delivery and pickup of freight associated with Price Chopper/Market32 distribution operations. Actively participates in route planning and execution to ensure service and cost requirements are met on a daily basis.

Requirements

Basic understanding of NYS and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.
Excel experience necessary.
High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Ensure adherence to all state and federal guidelines (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA).
Identify, address, rectify and elevate pertinent issues in a timely manner.
Ensure all company drivers, 3rd party contractors, for hire carriers and equipment are dispatched appropriately to meet store delivery schedules and fleet back haul’s.
Coach and train teammates to achieve department objectives in a positive and consistent manner.
Oversee the finalization of outbound routing, salvage operations and backhaul planning as necessary.
Coordinate with Traffic to identify and improve backhaul support via fleet operations.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and best practices to ensure the safety of teammates and company assets.
Communicate with management team to ensure successful transition between dispatch management shifts and identification of open items.
Ensure cost per load, cost per mile and cube per load metrics meet budgeted goals
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
