About The Position

Thank you for your interest in the Transportation Dispatcher. Below are a few of the requirements for this position: Class A license preferred 2-5 years experience in transportation, logistics, and food service a plus Strong DOT/HOS experience (2 years Min) ELD experience (2 years Min) - Samsara experience a plus MS Office experience - excel Strong written and verbal communication Customer Service/People Skills Routing Experience MIcrosoft - Word, Excel, Teams,Outlook Manage and track fleet equipment Ability to coordinate with drivers to make on time deliveries Schedule - Swing/Night dispatcher Responsibilities: Dispatch Route Delivery Drivers ensuring on-time freight movement and efficient delivery of customer freight in accordance with DOT and all company regulations. Plans and coordinates pickup and delivery requests from customers and coordinates driver routes. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Provide support in overseeing equipment assignments in preparation for driver routes Assist in determining manpower required to staff routes efficiently while ensuring on-time service and that our customer's freight is delivered/picked-up in a timely manner Review daily performance reports to identify problem areas; monitor and analyze all opportunities to improve efficiencies Adjust routes as needed due to traffic, weather or other foreseen circumstances Answer questions/concerns from drivers, including but not limited to, company policies and procedures, dispatch rules, driver's manual, safety and security procedures Monitor and input data into all applicable systems ESSENTIAL DUTIES Provide drivers with necessary paperwork (manifests, bill packets, scanning devices, assist with equipment, etc.) Interact with drivers, providing them with daily necessities (i.e. communications and documents) pertaining to driver logs, driver huddle, etc. Communicate with supervisors, planners and customer service to coordinate projections and movement of trailers and freight Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and report any issues Monitor progress of shipments; ensure cut-times and appointment compliance; notify management and/or customers of any delays Verify and complete required documentation and reports; perform administrative functions as required Communicate with Account Executives/Manager, as required, to ensure customers and company's needs are met Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Perform other duties as required WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS · Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,) and Internet · One or more years of LTL transportation industry experience · Strong communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) · Knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws and Hazardous Materials · Able to work independently and take initiative without immediate local supervision · Multi-tasked oriented and possess good organizational skills · May be required to work flexible hours - Transportation Dispatcher / Supervisory experience preferred May require evening, weekend, and holidays availability based on business need EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Some college required; Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree. WORKING CONDITIONS Standard warehouse conditions apply. Long hours spent sitting at a computer work station required. Walking, bending, crouching and other similar activities may be required. Exposure to various temperatures (Warm, Refrigerated & Freezer) may be necessary on occasion.

Responsibilities
