About The Position

The Dispatcher will field all incoming calls and respond in a calm and efficient manner. This position will dispatch out any emergency response staff as needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be able to type 50 wpm
• Must be able to operate basic office equipment such as printer, fax, telephones, and window-based computer systems
• Must be able to handle and protect confidential information
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision, and make decisions accordingly consistent with protocol
• Must be able to calm and control a difficult caller and obtain crucial information for first responders
• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
• Must be able to sit for 5-6 hours at a time
• Must be able to move around the fairgrounds

Responsibilities

• Will take and respond to incoming calls
• Will dispatch out necessary personnel as needed
• Will assist caller in whatever manner necessary to bring the call to conclusion
• Will work with the Safety Services Manager to address any questions, problems, and requests for services or equipment
