About The Position

Dispatcher Transdev in Johnson County, Kansas is hiring a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. We are offering the following: Competitive compensation package of minimum $17.25 – Maximum $21.50 hr. Benefits include: Vacation: 1 week Sick days: 4 days Holidays: 10 days; 6 standard and 4 floating Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation to and from work
Availability to work one of the following shifts: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Prior experience in dispatching, particularly in transportation, transit, or logistics environments preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per shift) while operating a computer, phone, and radio equipment.
Use hands and fingers to operate dispatch systems, keyboards, and communication devices.
Communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and via radio.
Occasionally stand, walk short distances, bend, or reach to access files or equipment.
Lift or move items up to 25 pounds, such as radios, headsets, or office supplies.
Maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels typical of a dispatch or operations center.
In some cases, step outside to interact with drivers or inspect vehicles, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle fumes, or outdoor environments.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in dispatching, particularly in transportation, transit, or logistics environments preferred
Technical Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
Other duties as required.
