We are seeking a part-time (on a as need basis) Public Safety Dispatcher for a one-year duration. The dispatcher is responsible for the general operation of the UCSF Communication Center, which consists of the following: process telephone calls for 911 police, fire medical and non-emergency services; input information into a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System; input data into the various Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems and interpret the printout information once it is obtained; operate a multi-channel radio system under emergency as well as non- emergency circumstances, adhering to FCC rules and regulations in the course of its operation and ability to audibly monitor radio traffic; operate a hand-held two-way radio for communications; maintain various logs; process various alarms; and perform other duties as assigned. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and this position classification at UCSF. This position is represented by a labor union; placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The hourly rate is from $45.79 to $58.45, and is determined upon applicable years of experience and internal equity comparisons.
