About The Position

This Dispatcher role at Medline Industries, LP, involves ensuring all routes are filled and providing timely instructions and responses to requests from drivers and customers throughout the day. The position focuses on customer support, responding to inquiries and concerns regarding deliveries, including no shows, cancellations, and scheduled deliveries. The dispatcher will use a computer system to retrieve schedule and asset information, and reference materials to efficiently assign driver resources and routes, aiming for maximum efficiency and reduced mileage. Key tasks include updating, preparing, and dispensing daily route schedules, monitoring and documenting route manifests, adjusting for changes, and scheduling delivery appointments. The role also requires routing drivers based on their skill sets and DOT mandated Hours of Service regulations, completing daily reports, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is prepared for on-time delivery departure. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years’ experiences with handling inbound/outbound call taking, scheduling and/or administrative work.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding deliveries including no shows, cancellations and scheduled deliveries.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and needs in a timely manner.
  • Use computer system to retrieve schedule and asset information.
  • Use reference material to quickly and accurately determine the best method to assign driver resources and routes striving for maximum efficiency and utilization while reducing mileage when possible.
  • Update, prepare, and dispense the daily route schedule.
  • Monitor and document route manifests and deliveries throughout the day adjusting for changes as needed.
  • Make and schedule appointments with customers that require delivery appointments.
  • Route drivers according to their skill set and available DOT mandated Hours of Service regulations.
  • Complete a variety of daily reports and clerical duties.
  • Ensure correct departments have all necessary paperwork for on time delivery departure.
