About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent education.
  • Current valid driver's license from your State of residence.
  • Current valid CDL B with Air Brake, Passenger (P), and School Bus (S) endorsements.
  • Current Massachusetts School Bus Certificate.
  • Current Massachusetts 7-D Certificate, if applicable.
  • Current DOT Physical (Medical) Certificate.
  • Good driving record with no accidents and must be insurable as a safe driver.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises scheduled bus routes and ensures they are completed as scheduled.
  • Works directly with school personnel regarding route configuration.
  • Provides information to parents of students pertaining to bus routing.
  • Assists bus drivers and monitors with operational issues.
  • Provides required forms and directions for routes and pick-up locations.
  • Assists drivers in emergencies and advises the Manager of occurrences.
  • Answers telephone calls and takes messages.
  • Uses two-way radio to communicate with bus drivers.
  • Maintains route book for driver assignments and customer reservations.
  • Maintains time sheet records and vehicle mileage records as directed.
  • May be assigned specific administrative duties such as billing and invoicing.
  • May contact charter customers to confirm reservation information.
  • Required to have basic knowledge of computer and office equipment.
  • May be required to be on call over weekends for operational issues.
  • May drive scheduled school routes or charter trips as needed.
  • Operates company vehicles according to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Completes assigned routes and reports any accidents or incidents to the Manager.
  • Successfully completes required driver training programs.
  • Maintains all required vehicle driver operating licenses and certifications.
  • Follows all company policies and local yard operating procedures.
  • Parks assigned vehicle in the yard as instructed and ensures it is clean after each workday.
  • Completes required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports vehicle defects.

Benefits

  • Salary of $47,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.
