About The Position

The Dispatcher role at a leading regional logistics provider in Boston involves managing multiple projects and ensuring efficient delivery operations. The position requires strong customer interaction skills and the ability to lead and direct drivers effectively. The Dispatcher will utilize a TMS platform for monitoring and dispatching drivers, while also being involved in route creation and administrative tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of dispatching experience preferred.
• Strong geographic knowledge of the Eastern New England area.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction.
• Ability to create efficient routes based on time and geography.
• Strong administrative skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with TMS platforms.
• Coaching and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct interaction with customers, both internal and external, at all levels.
• Maintain a customer-friendly phone and email presence.
• Lead and direct independent contractors and employee drivers with deliveries and pickups.
• Monitor and dispatch drivers via the TMS platform.
• Perform real-time scanning and updates.
• Coach and mentor drivers to improve performance.
• Create routes based on time and geography.
• Handle administrative tasks including electronic file manipulation and document retention.
• Occasionally assist with warehouse work.
