Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college coursework preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in directing staff, office management or dispatcher is required.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of DOT regulations (hours of service).
  • Knowledge of computerized and mobile communication systems.
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient, timely delivery and pick-up of blood and blood products by directing workflow management, overtime management and driver productivity.
  • Works to ensure that all collection locations operate on time and are well stocked with all of the supplies and equipment required for a successful drive.
  • Monitors schedules, vehicles, dispatches drivers, and directs pickups or deliveries.
  • Coordinates drivers and operations to meet time parameters on all shipments, pickups, donor centers, and blood drives.
  • Assists mobile drivers as needed to ensure drive starts, and breakdown are completed on time.
  • Report vehicle and fleet equipment issues, communicating DVIR’s, coordinating with mechanic shops and towing providers.
  • Ensure blood drive vehicles are operational, loaded, and ready to depart on time.
  • Monitor drivers’ departure and arrival time for blood drives and communicate all delays via email.
  • Manages safety compliance by ensuring accidents forms are completed and reported in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and reviews driver records and documents including spreadsheets and ensuring their accuracy before submission.
  • Monitors and documents employee activity to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Resolve customer service issues by partnering with internal departments to develop and implement a satisfactory solution.
  • Manages communications via dispatch base phone or email between the business unit and drivers.
  • Monitors and reports on radio communications from the NYC Office of Emergency Management.
