Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written procedures and reports in English
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from other employees, customers, regulatory agencies, suppliers, etc.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical applications
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to sit at a desk or computer terminal to perform writing, and keying/typing information
  • High school graduate or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Take calls, p rocess orders, and prepare shipments for pickup or delivery
  • Coordinate transfers of products between branches and the main site
  • Contact trucking companies to coordinate shipments and instruct drivers on the requirements of the loads
  • Operate truck scale and complete weight tags, bills of lading , and hazardous materials shipping papers
  • Answer telephone and computer inquiries about product orders
  • Communicate directions and instructions, both verbally and in writing, to customers, vendors, other employees and the public
  • Conduct physical inventory counts of products stored in warehouses and bulk storage areas
  • Calculate total quantities of products by weight and/or volumetric measurements
  • Perform receptionist duties as needed by responding to calls and visitors in a professional manner
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, order and maintain office supplies, and maintain computer and other hard and soft filing systems
  • Work e xtended hours and flexible schedules are a requirement during the busy season
