About The Position

The Communications Supervisor is responsible for fulfilling the operational needs of the Communications Manager and employees within the Communication Center. They are to set an example for employees and to support employees in meeting the standards of the Puckett EMS policies, protocols, and culture. The Communications Supervisor directly supervises the communications employees. Employees hired or promoted into this position are subject to a three-month introductory probationary period.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years EMS Dispatch experience, or 2 years EMS Field Staff experience.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to Problem Solve across multiple departments, districts, & agencies.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to professionally provide employee & conflict resolution.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Typing Speeds of 40wpm or greater
  • The ability to reach, push and pull.
  • The ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • The ability to use phones and radios to communicate with callers, crews, and other staff.
  • The ability to use mouse and/or keyboard to input data into computer over long periods of time.
  • The ability to view graphic and text data on multiple computer screens for long periods of times.
  • The ability to complete all job duties during all hours of the day and night.

Responsibilities

  • Over sees the day-to-day operations of the communications center.
  • Assists with 911 and IFT compliance.
  • Assists with Insurance Prior-authorizations as needed.
  • Provides continuity of communication to appropriate Supervisors and Administration.
  • Assists with Training, both initial & continued.
  • Provides feedback to employees as needed.
  • Helps ensure proper documentation is being completed.
  • Helps ensure late notifications are entered into Tab-6.
  • Helps ensure DQC is maintained.
  • Helps ensure Hospital & End of Shift notifications are sent out.
  • Perform investigations when necessary.
  • Other reasonable duties and/or roles assigned based on company needs.
  • Additionally assumes responsibility for and/or helps with duties related to Call taking and Dispatching.
  • Ability to work extended hours in urgent situations, to ensure minimum staffing levels are being met.
