About The Position

MV Transportation is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor to oversee a large Dispatch department. The role involves ensuring effective communication with drivers, monitoring service performance, and making proactive adjustments to enhance on-time performance and productivity. The Dispatch Supervisor will utilize scheduling software, two-way radio communication, and data analysis skills to manage operations effectively.

Requirements

• College Degree in Business Management or Administration or will have degree within the next six months.
• 3 to 5 years of successful supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a 7-day/week operation.
• Strong leadership skills to guide a diverse group towards departmental goals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Trapeze scheduling software.
• Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Dispatch department and ensure effective daily communication with drivers.
• Monitor service performance and make proactive adjustments to maximize on-time performance and productivity.
• Manage and coordinate technical workforce job completion.
• Resolve customer complaints and improve customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ensure dispatch personnel effectively link operators and customers by monitoring responses to service requests.
• Provide coaching and assistance to subordinates as needed.
• Communicate with management to maximize efficiencies and resolve issues.
• Handle hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions for Dispatch employees.
• Interview applicants and manage employee grievances and complaints.
• Monitor service calls and ensure timely management and completion of requests.
• Fill in as a Dispatcher when required.
• Ensure compliance with office policies regarding uniforms, electronic devices, and attendance.
