About The Position

The Dispatcher Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of dispatching within the Logistics division. This role involves managing driver duties, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and maintaining effective communication with both internal and external customers. The supervisor will also handle the financial efficiency of fleet management, coordinate maintenance and repairs, and ensure adherence to safety policies. This position requires a hands-on approach, including periodic ride-alongs with drivers to understand their needs and experiences.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience as a Dispatcher.

Nice To Haves

• College and/or related technical experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management.
• One year of supervisory experience managing at least five people.
• Four years of experience in Shipping and Warehousing or CDL Truck Driving.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch as needed and negotiate rates with 3rd party carriers.
• Direct daily driver duties, managing routes and schedules.
• Ensure DOT compliance related to driver hours of service.
• Facilitate communication between dispatchers and management.
• Enter purchase orders as needed.
• Participate in disciplinary actions for drivers as per company policy.
• Review driver documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Select external carriers for load assignments.
• Manage payroll to ensure accurate compensation for drivers.
• Oversee fleet management for efficiency and safety.
• Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance with vendors.
• Complete incident investigation forms for safety-related issues.
• Conduct ride-alongs with drivers to assess their needs.
• Supervise all employees in the department, including drivers.
