About The Position

This diverse team – representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers – brings magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle… and a dash of pixie dust! The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Anaheim, CA. The Show Development & Production Design departments are responsible for the development of scenic designs/concept art and renderings/scenic treatments/logos/graphics for live shows, including parades, stage shows, and special events on and off the Disney property and on board the Disney Cruise Line. At Disney, you will help inspire that magic by enabling our teams to push the limits of entertainment and create the never-before-seen. We are looking for an experienced individual with an innovative mindset and a passion for Disney quality and magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all creative materials.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, such as Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with 3D modeling architectural software that allows for accurate measurements, such as SketchUp/Rhino/AutoCAD/ Vectorworks
  • Your creative background
  • Knowledge of the Entertainment industry
  • Gaining trust through motivation and communication
  • Managing conflicting priorities
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate level student pursuing a degree in scenic design, graphic design, themed entertainment design, illustration, architecture, or related field.

  • Must submit your best 10 pieces of artwork
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating knowledge of basic design, including but not limited to theatre/themed entertainment/production design, as well as computer graphics, digital painting, and hand illustration
  • Contributing to design research
  • Collaborating as part of a team on at least one project from blue sky to completion
  • Participating in appropriate Creative Entertainment seminars and meetings
