About The Position

Kindred Fare - A Spirited Cookery is a full-service, high volume restaurant located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with a focus on scratch cookery using seasonal & local ingredients. We have been featured in Forbes, Wine Spectator, Eater, and have won "Best Farm to Table Restaurant" four years in a row by The Finger Lakes Times Readers' Choice Awards. We are extremely popular with locals & travelers to our region with positive online reviews and guest feedback. We have a strong beverage focus with cool climate wine & spirits & are highly engaged in the local industry. On Monday nights our culinary team works together to build a three-course themed prix fixe, something our community looks forward to each week. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient dish station while overseeing the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. In addition to dishwashing duties, this role helps create and uphold a kitchen-wide cleanliness and sanitation program—including daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning routines. The Lead Dishwasher supports a smooth flow of service and plays a critical role in upholding food safety standards. This is not an entry-level position! We’re looking for someone with previous back-of-house experience in dishwashing or cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to lead by example.

Requirements

Availability 1-4 nights a week starting between 2pm - 4pm until closing around 10pm-11pm.
2 + years of previous experience in a high-volume setting preferred

a keen eye for detail - we need to make sure the dishes & the work space are squeaky clean!

Prolonged periods of walking or standing
Must be able to lift, carry and place up to 60 pounds at a time.
Must be able to work nights
Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently
Must frequently immerse hands in water
Must be able to work in a warm & damp environment

Responsibilities

Washes, dries & stocks all wares including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses.
Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
Waste, compost & recycling management
Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.
General and deep cleaning including all opening and closing sidewalk, daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work areas.
May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health safety and sanitation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
