A Steward Dishwasher is responsible for the general cleanliness of the kitchen and some areas of the front of the house. Although the main task is cleanliness but will also include assisting in putting away and organizing deliveries, inventory of chemicals used, and essential food preparation work. Due to the nature of our business, this position is required to work weekends and holidays. The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: General Duties and Responsibilities: · The individual needs to be motivated, keen, and eager by nature and with experience relevant to the post being taken. · They should approach each task with enthusiasm, thought, and care. · The individual should be punctual, presentable, and with a strong work ethic, always conducting themselves in a professional manner, and working in a hygienic, clean manner. · Groot Hospitality restaurant is a seven-day operation and as such shifts may be morning, afternoon, or evening shifts. · Must be responsible for thoroughly cleaning workstation during and especially after shifts. · Must be punctual and understand the importance of position in the team. · Must be able to keep pace with a busy restaurant environment. · This is a physically demanding job and the individual must be able to carry at least 35 pounds of product. · Responsible for washing dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and kitchen utensils in a careful manner to avoid breakage and loss. · Responsibilities include duties to the dishwashing area but are not limited to and include putting away deliveries, minor food preparation tasks, upkeep and maintenance of the back house, floor cleaning and sanitation, and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. · Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of utensils and equipment used. · Must be aware of company policies regarding benefits, callouts, vacation hours, etc. · Must be respectful and aware of working with others and must be a team-oriented individual.
