The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen facilities and equipment. This includes cleaning and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and the kitchen area to uphold D’Amico's health, safety, and sanitation standards

Requirements

  • Must possess manual dexterity to wash, sanitize, store, and organize kitchen wares and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that includes exposure to cleaning chemicals, wet floors, temperature extremes, humidity, and high noise levels.
  • Must be able to reach, lift, and place items on both low and high shelving safely.
  • Must have the physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, often up to ten (10) hours per shift.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
  • Must be able to listen attentively and follow verbal instructions from supervisors and team members

Responsibilities

  • Clean, wash, and sanitize all kitchen wares, while also storing and organizing rolling stock.
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glasses, then wash and store them appropriately.
  • Sweep and mop designated areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, including kitchen spaces, back hallways, walk-in coolers, dry storage areas, and other assigned areas.
  • Notify the Chef promptly regarding any necessary repairs.
  • Empty all garbage cans, break down boxes, and dispose of trash and recycling properly.
  • Assist with special tasks as directed by the Chef.
  • Maintain stock of cleaning supplies and linens as instructed, and inform the manager when supplies are running low.
  • Aid kitchen staff in "plate-up" duties upon request.
  • Practice and promote safety measures to ensure the well-being of oneself, fellow employees, and guests.
  • Adhere to all required closing procedures at the end of each shift.
  • Foster positive relationships with kitchen staff and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
