About The Position

General Purpose The primary purpose of your job position is performing a variety of physical and manual work involved in the cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment, utensils and dishes and the maintenance of food preparation areas in a clean and sanitary manner Essential Duties tial Duties • Prepare Soiled dishes, silverware and similar items for automated cleaning equipment. • Operates automated cleaning equipment; adds cleaning solvents or agents and adjusts settings as required • Hand washes items as required, including pots and pans • Maintains sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen and work areas • Disposes of trash and rubbish; cleans own work area and any other portions of kitchen as required • Follows established schedules for special cleaning or pest control • Stores and cleans china, glasses and other dinnerware and equipment • Follows sanitation procedures and performs periodic cleaning of china, utensils or other items • May perform miscellaneous food service tasks such as delivering trays, assisting in the serving of food and similar tasks • Performs realated work as required • Required to wear food service safety gear to include but not limited to; hairnets, sanitary gloves, cut gloves, rubber soled-anti slip protective shoe and safety glasses/goggles • Other duties as assigned by manager • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information Supervisory Requirements This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualification Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Language Skills Ability to read technical procedures. Ability to read and follow recipes. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate. Physical Demands The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently. Talking and /or hearing very frequently. Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
