About The Position

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. Posting Specifics Pay Rate: Based on Experience Shift Details: Part-time (32 hrs/wk) 5 Days each week. Afternoon / Evening (2:30pm - 9:30pm). Will include rotating weekends. Days off each week are yet to be determined. Located at Intermountain Medical Center Culinary Services Additional Details: This role involves dishwashing duties. Requires working around water and standard dishwashing chemicals. Candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration abilities, working effectively with diverse teams to achieve department objectives.

Requirements

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho)
  • Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

  • Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes
  • Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
  • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
  • Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.
