The Dishwasher position at San Chez Bistro is crucial to our kitchen's success. As a dishwasher, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes. Additionally, you may be involved in some food prep tasks and custodial work. This position requires flexibility in working hours, including late nights on weekends to accommodate the restaurant's busy schedule.

  • Dishwashing: Operate industrial dishwashers to clean dishes, glassware, and kitchen utensils efficiently.
  • Sanitation: Ensure all kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and dishware are cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards.
  • Food Prep Assistance: Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, or assembling dishes when needed.
  • Custodial Duties: Help with custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, bathrooms, and dining areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment to the Kitchen Manager for repairs.
  • Stock Management: Assist with receiving and storing supplies and food deliveries in an organized manner.
  • Trash Removal: Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly to maintain a clean and odor-free kitchen environment.
  • Adherence to Safety: Follow safety guidelines for chemical handling, equipment operation, and proper sanitation practices.
  • Flexible Schedule: Be available to work late hours, including weekends, as the restaurant operates until 1 a.m. on weekends.
  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Willingness to work late-night shifts on weekends as required.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines is a plus.
