About The Position

The dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. We are seeking a dishwasher for Tuesday and Sunday nights, projected to be approximately 16 hours per week.

  • Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals.

  • Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary, especially Tuesday and Sunday nights.
  • Have the ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with many distractions.
  • Have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Have the ability to move around the facility and walk or stand 100% of the shift.
  • Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, mop, sweep and clean frequently.
  • Have or obtain Food Handlers Certification.
  • Must be 18 years of age or above.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to cookline and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
  • Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
  • Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
  • Set up or break down dishwashing area.
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats.
  • Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Sweep/mop floors.
  • Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
  • Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
  • Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
  • Notify Kitchen Supervisor or Kitchen Manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
  • Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Other duties as directed.
