About The Position

This is a part-time Dishwasher position at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. The role involves maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided. Bon Appétit Management Company, which operates over 1,000 cafés for corporations, universities, and museums, emphasizes socially and environmentally responsible sourcing, cooking from scratch with fresh, local ingredients.

Responsibilities

Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Wash pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Polish silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces.
Remove trash and place it in designated containers.
Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
Help load and unload supplies and product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
