About The Position

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. Position Details PRN, on call or as needed for 1-3 shifts per week Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.00 - $21.75) Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday Shift Assignments: 9am-5:30pm, 11:30am-8pm & 2pm-10:30pm Dynamic team with opportunities to cross train and support other kitchen areas for more exciting shifts! Requirements

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work
  • One or more year of experience maintaining cleanly areas with chemicals preferred
  • Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions
  • Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
  • Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes
  • Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
  • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
  • Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.
