About The Position

Addington Place at College Harbor, an AgeWell Solvere Living managed community is a senior living campus (AL, IL, SNF) in beautiful Saint Petersburg, Florida. As a certified Great Place to Work for 8 years in a row, we proudly offer eligible team members: The Community Utility Associate performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of Community food services, facilities, and equipment. He/she is responsible for washing dishes, washing pots and pans , general and equipment cleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies as well as the removal of all garbage; leaving machinery empty, clean, and dry; and keeping floors clean after each meal.

Requirements

  • High School diploma preferred/ GED accepted.
  • Some kitchen experience is desirable.
  • Basic knife skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Physically able to bend and reach.
  • Physically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required.
  • May be asked to submit to random drug test during employment.

  • Some kitchen experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time and in appropriate work attire.
  • Responsible for the proper washing of china, flatware, glassware, and other kitchen equipment including machine rinse pressure and water temperature.
  • Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and other assigned areas in a sanitary condition.
  • Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships with other kitchen personnel and residents.
  • Must be familiar with food-handling procedures and regulations.
  • Must know how to operate kitchen appliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machine.
  • May be required to help with food preparation, inventory, and maintenance as well as food deliveries and stocking shelves.
  • Follow all emergency procedures.
  • Understands all safety practices and procedures.
  • Reports on-the-job injuries to the Community Cook and/or Food & Beverage Director before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
  • Communicates effectively with Food & Beverage Director and other staff.
  • Advises Food & Beverage Director of any changes in physical or mental health of a resident immediately.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record, notifies Food & Beverage Director if he/she expects to be late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies, and follows work schedule.
