About The Position

The Dishwasher/Steward plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the back-of-house operations. Dishwasher/ Steward position supports the Culinary team by ensuring all dishware, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored. The steward also maintains kitchen work areas, storage spaces, and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • High School education
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean workspace
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while staying organized
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Basic understanding of sanitation, safety, and food-service standards
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills, especially when assisting chefs and service staff

Nice To Haves

  • Food Safe certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all dishes, equipment, cookware, and small wares are consistently cleaned, sanitized, polished, and ready for use
  • Operate dish machines and hand-wash delicate or specialty items as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish stations, sinks, prep areas, storage shelves, and all back-of-house spaces
  • Ensure refrigerators and storerooms are cleaned, organized, and maintained daily
  • Remove trash, break down boxes, and handle recycling according to property guidelines
  • Follow all sanitation, safety, and chemical-handling standards, upholding a safe and health-conscious work environment
  • Communicate effectively with all kitchen team members to keep operations running smoothly
  • Promptly report any maintenance or equipment issues
