About The Position

Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring a Dish Washer/Prep in the Auxiliary Services Department. The essential functions include regular garbage removal, sanitizing utensils, organizing workstations, replenishing containers during service, monitoring dish machine performance, sanitizing the kitchen area, proper storage of stock and supplies, preparing food items, cleaning equipment, and completing mandatory training. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hands on experience with industrial washing machines and manual washing stations.
• Able to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed.
• Able to adhere to sanitation guidelines and work in an organized manner.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years Culinary Experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Remove garbage regularly.
• Sanitize and wash utensils, equipment, pots, pans, and other items and store properly.
• Help to organize work stations and areas before/during/after service.
• Ensure that containers, cups, etc. are constantly replenished during service.
• Always observe dish machine performance and report any issues immediately.
• Sanitize the kitchen area including floors.
• Put stock and supplies away in the proper locations, making sure everything has a label and date.
• Clean or prepare various foods/food items for cooking or serving.
• Clean garbage cans, carts, and various stay-in-place equipment.
